Practice Problems: Derivatives of Polynomials

1 : Compute the derivative of the $f(x) = \sage {p1f1}$ using the polynomial rule.

$f'(x) = \sage {p1ans}$

First recall that we can split polynomials up when taking derivatives using the sum/difference and constant multiple rules. Once you have done that, you should just be taking the derivative of $x$ to some power. Then you just need the polynomial rule: if $f(x) = x^n$ then $f'(x) = nx^{n-1}$ .
